Commercial Fundamentals of the Oil & Gas Industry
Our first client for the course was a British MNC and the programme was meant for their Mumbai entity in Dec 2008. The programme has been modified to suit the unique business environment of the local market such as price regulation by the government.
Our second client was a German-based firm which is actively involved in the upstream production of oil and gas. The four-day course is conducted in Feb 2009 and covers the commercial and financial aspects of upstream gas and oil agreements, economic evaluation of such contracts and risk management.
Negotiating Successful Oil & Gas Contracts
We had the opportunity to work with a government entity in West Africa during Oct 2009. The entity has recently been diversifying into generating electricity from crude oil to pipeline gas / LNG. It covers practices, price terms and risk handling in oil / gas / LNG contracts. It also touches on dispute resolutions and mechanisms of price review.
Participants of this course went on to attend our other programmes such as The Price Review of Gas & LNG.
Heat Exchanger Fouling
The programme was catered to a prominent South African company during November 2009, which integrated both the client’s and the public participants into a single workshop held in Johannesburg. The client’s participants had an unique opportunity to exchange views with other corporate participants, creating a vibrant learning atmosphere.
Enterprise Risk Management
This was conducted for a Malaysia-based conglomerate in July 2010, whereby participants are aware of the ERM policies and practices within the organization, understand them and apply these in their working context. Participants came away more familiar with ERM and more importantly, getting these incorporated into their various business units.
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the Oil & Gas Industry
This specialized programme was conducted in Vietnam for a national oil company during August 2010 and expose participants on the IFRS latest standards & updates. Classroom exercises assist in applying and reinforcing what they have absorbed. There were experienced participants who have already went through extensive IFRS courses and they still feel that our programme value-added to their IFRS knowledge.
